Clean aisles. Dirty ambitions.

NOT A
F*CKING
STOCKING SIM.

We love supermarket sims.
We just kept wanting more.

More depth. More personality. More to do than refill the same shelf forever. Too often the shop gets bigger and the challenge stays the same. We want the business to grow and the game to grow with it.

So we're building Buy the Block: hands-on retail that becomes proper management. A store full of people, systems, decisions, and consequences. Believable where it matters. Fun where it counts.

BUY THE BLOCK
THE GAME WE'RE BUILDING.
  1. Depth worth getting lost in.

Skills, interviews, rotas, smarter ordering and a business that asks more of you as it grows.

  2. One world. One art style.

Products, people, fixtures and decorations that actually belong together. A place you'll want to make your own.

  3. Scale changes the challenge.

From running the till to running the team. From a few shelves to land, loading docks, parking and a proper supermarket.

AMBITIONIN STOCK.

In development. This is the vision.
We're building it one good system at a time.

THE STORE GROWS.
YOUR JOB CHANGES.

YOU ARE
EVERY DEPARTMENT.

Stock it. Clean it. Ring it up. Know every aisle, every order, every coin going through the till.

  • Build skills by doing the work, from checkout to keeping the place running.
  • Choose your range, set prices and make the first shelves earn their keep.
  • Use capacity-aware top-ups, standing orders and planned deliveries to stay stocked without living in a shopping menu.

HIRE PEOPLE.
ACTUALLY MANAGE THEM.

A résumé isn't a personality. Ask the questions. Find the right people. Build a team that can run the place.

  • Interview applicants to uncover skills, traits and the occasional generously padded résumé.
  • Train staff, develop their skills, promote your best people and put the right person on the right job.
  • Build weekly rotas and reusable duties. Deal with availability, wages, morale, sickness, no-shows and finding cover.

LESS BOX-CARRYING.
MORE BIG DECISIONS.

Now the challenge is the whole operation: a bigger team, more demand, more moving parts, and money that has to add up.

  • Buy neighbouring land, expand the building, and plan parking, traffic flow and loading areas.
  • Make storage, receiving, delivery windows, online orders and fulfilment work together.
  • Balance wages, bills, deliveries, loans and cash flow. Grow demand through range, prices, reputation, opening hours and access.

RETAIL HAS
CONSEQUENCES.

Outside the stockroom, the world keeps moving.
Some of it is heading straight for your shop.

Theft isn't a rounding error.

Shoplifters, CCTV, door scanners and security staff. Protect the business, deal with trouble, and let the cops do their thing.

Someone has to take the cash.

Cash handling, safes and bank-van collections. Taking money is one thing. Keeping the operation funded is another.

The backroom is a real job.

Cages, carts, pallet jacks, storage and receiving. Then there's the rubbish, collectors, spills, mice, repairs and missing trolleys.

YES, YOU CAN PUNCH CUSTOMERS.

No, that isn't a business strategy. Bad decisions have consequences. Sometimes those consequences arrive with flashing lights.
